I think the composition of the pillars, the silhouette of the metal and the character in the concrete is what does it for me. Wonderful shot.

This to me really says exactly what the theme asks.. not only what is left over after it's battle with nature..but just the very struggle of building it in the first place (not an easy endeavour). The rust stains really add to it's hard life. Bravo

Wonderful look to this structure -- it's so weathered and battered that it visually blurs the line between manmade and organic. Great articulation of the theme.
